John MacCain: It Took Him Some Time, But It Worthed
Sen. John MacCain won the right to celebrate South Carolina’s victory with years of hard work. I remember him campaigning against then future president G.W.Bush in 2000. In 2000 he had lost in a contest in which Republican party already had a winner - Mr. Bush.
Today however John MacCain looks like the only candidate who can win against both Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama. This presidential race is made for Mrs. Clinton. With all the recognition and support he gained through the years since 1992 she looks like much as a winner. She entered the campaign by saing “I’m in to win!”. But the one who can really win is MacCain.
It is true that the place of the “Republican elephant” is still vacant with a few candidates who are almost perfect for the job. But nobody has broken out of the pack yet. I like the social conservatism of Mike Huckabee who has delivered a strong message to voters by saying that U.S. economy goes pretty well for the rich and for upper middle class, but he knows that poorer Americans are now having a hard times. He is remarkable with his selfconfidence, but he doesn’t have the International credibility Mr. MacCain won through the years.
I also like the remarkable record of Rudy Giulianny as a Mayor of New York. He had chance as a person and a misfortune as a politician and American to be the main figure during the post 9/11 days. He has a name to survive in a weeks of campaigning and chaos. But his campaigning strategy is very unusual. It might give him a big win in Florida or to make him to leave the race at the end of this month. What Giulianny doesn’t have is a the reputation Sen. MacCain has won worldwide through the years.
American society is a global one. The life and the living standard of an average American citizen depend pretty much on the developments in the International stage. The America’s image and the influence worldwide is on a very low level however. The country probably needs a president who can regain for United States the position as the world’s most liked nation. I believe that John MacCain is perfect for this job?
